On Friday May 30th, Emanuele successfully defended his PhD thesis. As you can see from the picture, he was both struggling to balance the top-heavy hat on his head (you can see the actual projector on top) and he was wearing the approved brown uniform that distinguishes him as “Dr”.
This was a wonderful occasion as it brought many familiar faces together for one last time before the lab moves over to Cornell.
